Fireworks, 2019/2020
Fireworks is a project that started on January 1, 2019.
Germany on New Year's Eve. Civil war-like conditions with fireworks and firecrackers. Every year the Germans spend more than 130 million euros on it, release 4000 tons of fine dust, injure people and animals and produce waste. And yet the Germans love their fireworks. New Years Eve with itsfirework habits is representative of how we deal with the earth, and it shows how much this throwaway society has become established, because buying objects that can only be used once, that are proven to be harmful to the environment and health and that leave tons of waste, can be found not only on New Year's Eve, but every day.
Said in a pointed way, New Years Eve shows only the current consumer behavior:
I want, I buy, I do not care.
